Hi There!

I’m Artemis

I’m here to help educate, inspire, challenge and motivate you to live the healthiest and happiest life possible.

I believe that if you love yourself first and foremost, you will want to treat every part of yourself like a temple.

You naturally want to nourish your body with nutritious foods, nourish your mind with positive thoughts, be kind, authentic and less critical and judgmental towards yourself and others, and consistently strive to make decisions that positively impact your world and the environment around you.

That may not always be possible, as life continually throws challenges and distractions at you. Even goddesses have their weaknesses!

But if you’re doing the best you can for yourself and your family with whatever means you have at the moment whether that means eating conventional foods, screaming into a pillow or walking around your kitchen as your daily exercise regimen, then that’s okay.

Over time, you can educate yourself about how your decisions can directly impact your life, the lives of others and the environment around you.

You can learn to change what does not work for you one step at a time. It’s taken me years to change some of my unhealthy habits. And it’s still a work in progress.

I believe that if you truly aspire to live the healthiest life you can, then you will push through any obstacles and fear that come your way.

Far too often, we make excuses for why we don’t exercise, eat healthier, sleep better or take time to relax. “I’m too tired”, “I’m too busy, “I’m too broke”, “I won’t be liked if I changed,” and so on.

If you’ve always wanted to lose those extra pounds, sleep better, eat better, laugh more, reduce your toxic load or just learn to relax, then it’s time you stopped finding excuses.

Whatever obstacles, failures, fears and setbacks you may have faced before, let them inspire you to try harder and get better instead of paralyze you.

Your dream of being healthy is alive today.

“Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. When one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open.”

Are You Being Authentic To Yourself?

Being a healthy goddess means finding out who you really are and what you really want, then creating an external reality that matches who you are on the inside. Many times, we lose touch with who we are because of our circumstances… you’re a super busy mom trying to do it all, or you’re a hardworking employee trying to earn that pay cheque. Sometimes you need to step back so that you are aware of what’s going on in the present moment.

Do you see your self-worth based on how much you make, how you look or how well you are taking care of everyone else at the expense of yourself? Or does your self-worth come from within… based on self-acceptance and respect, self-care and loving boundaries?

Each one of us has the power to be a healthy goddess – starting from the inside out. This means paying attention to how well you are taking care of yourself.

You are a radiant, magnificent human being. Commit to yourself. Love all parts of you, even the parts you dislike. Embody these gifts. Cherish them. Then once you are ready to purge your old self and old ways are you truly ready to begin your journey of transformation.

Wherever you are, whether it’s to lose weight, learn about food and nutrition or to find ways to de-stress, join me on this journey.

Start by asking questions. And never criticize yourself for doing the best you can.

A Little About Me…

I share the same name as the immortal Greek goddess, Artemis (pronounced ahr-tuh-mis), but that’s about it.

I’m a holistic nutritionist living with two strong-willed kids, a tabby cat and an autistic husband in a small, rural town in Ontario, Canada.

My journey to understanding and practicing what being healthy means is a continuous one.

I do not pretend to be superiorly advanced in my knowledge of handling life or complete in my learning. I consider myself a determined goddess warrior, a fabulous work in progress. I’m mortal, like you, learning, growing, laughing and crying. I make mistakes. I still take things personally. I eat potato chips. I swear. I get stressed and overwhelmed. Sometimes I feel fragile and vulnerable. But this journey has taught me to honor and cherish all these parts about myself.

From my spectacular stumbles, I’ve discovered that learning and growing is a lifelong process. So far, I’ve learned to reduce my toxic load, cook simple, nutritious meals, live with less clutter, meditate whenever I can find 10 free minutes in the morning, use less plastic,  read labels, drink cleaner water, smile more and create healthier and more authentic relationships.

I hope that you’ll walk this journey with me. Learn to  love and be compassionate with yourself wherever you are. Love your mistakes and laugh at your fears. Life is constantly evolving and so are you.

In health,

Artemis
